Webinar : Tips from mix engineer Alan Meyerson

Today I watched the webinar from SOUND PARTICLES who make some great immersive audio plugins for DAWS, such as Energy Panner which I use for my mixes.

The main panelist on this webinar was mix engineer Alan Meyerson who is well know for mixing movie soundtracks such as the recent Oscar/Academy award winning films of DUNE/DUNE 2.

WATCH THE TALK:

During the talk (sponsored by Sound on Sound Magazine and Apogee), Alan shared some great tips on what plugins and gear to buy, as well as mixing tips. Here's a selection of what he uses.

Mixing synth bass:

use a Spring reverb on the synth bass as a light fx which colors the sound nicely. The plate reverb he uses is from UAudio > https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/reverbs/pure-plate-reverb.html and it's really great!
