How I became the world's 1st Podcaster in 2001
Apple Boilerplate :
Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning desktop and notebook computers, Mac OS X operating system, and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital music revolution with its iPod portable music players and iTunes online music store.

This story will be part of my published Memoir. I've reached the tender age of 50, so it's time to start documenting parts of what I have done in my lifetime. No idea if this will get published in a book, but for now it lives here as a living story that will get added to, over time. So stay tuned.
So.. How Did I Became The World's 1st Podcaster ?
The story will be amazing and insightful, and yes along the way will include links to that very podcast. It's a music documentary by the way that started out as a book and then a series of short items broadcast on radio in England, and then I went and interned at Apple... and a few years later, up pops this music documentary mp3 file and some text and a way to download it.

Okay, so what is/was - Straight Outa Bristol ? it was a book by author and journalist Phil Johnson from Bristol, England. And in the book he discusses how that now famous "bristol sound" developed.
Title Straight Outa Bristol: Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky and the Roots of Trip-hopAuthor
Phil JohnsonISBN: 9780340675212
Publisher:
SceptrePub date: 15 May 1997
Bristol has erupted from pop silence to emerge as the most vibrant and innovative music scene in Britain. This is the definitive account of the Bristol sound and the rise of resident stars Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky.
Alas the book is now out of print, but it's also hard to find so dig deep in bookstores and ask around as it's a great book to read about the insights into Bristol music scene of the 1990's.
However.. right now there's a online version to read, and you can find it on Archive.org , here's a link : https://archive.org/details/straightoutabris0000john

Apple WWDC 2005 : The launch of Podcasting "Tivo for Radio" via iTunes.
Adam Curry get's mentioned in the keynote as a Podcaster, but so do other organizations at that time including BBC Radio.
Between 2001 and the launch of Podcasts in iTunes in 2005, I "secretly" worked on and developed a music documentary called 'Straight Outa Bristol' also known as Bristol Sounds. This documentary not only appeared on iTunes Store as a Podcast, it also was broadcast in the UK on-air on BBC Radio on Radio 1 and then Radio 2 as a mini series, perfect for radio but fantastic as a Podcast which could be extended. And at BBC Radio I helped them develop more Podcasts for their shows, I showed them the how and why do it. The first show on BBC Radio 1 to have a podcast was, The Chris Moyles Breakfast Show.
What's the story behind the Podcast technical documents at Apple ? Who wrote them and why ?
It was me, as an intern at Apple from end of 2000 to 2002. Here's the links to the Apple Podcast Content Guidelines :
etc.. yes I wrote these documents and have helped Apple keep them updated, as they use industry broadcast standards and laws. just go to the Apple Podcasters site and click on Support to find them , and others :
