On Thursday 28th August, Sam Downie immersive mastering mix & mastering engineer/producer attended the Summer BBQ networking party with the Music Producers Guild (uk) held at the HQ of Solid State Logic in Oxford, UK.
Sam got his hands on the latest mixing consoles and heard from award-winning producers Mark 'Spike' Stent and Catherine Marks. Sam talked to Mark after his talk, and we talked Massive Attack in how we worked on Blue Lines and other tracks in the 90's.
For Sam and others, this was indeed a rare visit and chance to go behind the scenes at one of the world’s leading audio innovators and creators. Sam explored SSL’s studios and manufacturing spaces, he met the designers behind its legendary tools, and enjoyed listening and learning from exclusive insights from special guest producers.

Sam got to try out SSL’s latest technology — including the new ORACLE Future Analogue console, Duality, ORIGIN, Harrison 32Classic, U Series controllers, and award-winning rackmount gear, and the latest Solid State Logic plugins which he uses on his own mixes.
