Album Review : IMMERSED by Justin Gray



GRAMMY® award 2026 nominee - for Best Immersive Audio Album, for Justin Gray's IMMERSED

Justin Gray is a Juno award-winning bassist, composer, engineer, producer, and educator based in Toronto, Canada. As a double bassist, electric bassist, and Bass Veena player, Justin performs in a variety of traditional and contemporary music ensembles from around the world. Justin is on faculty at Humber College in Toronto, where he teaches audio production, performance, and composition. As a producer, mix engineer and mastering engineer, Justin has worked with artists from around the world in a wide range of musical styles.


Justin's latest music album - IMMERSED - is a wonderful collection of Jazz/World influenced original creative works (of art). It's a collaborative album and has been picking up fans and professional music artist/producers/mix engineers like me since it's announcement in Spring 2025. The album has picked up several GRAMMY award nominations including Best Immersive Album 2026, and I am wishing Justin and his team congratulations and my best and hope it WINS the awards.

IMMERSED - is a cinematic album composed, recorded, and produced from the ground up for immersive audio. Featuring 38 artists from around the world, the project places the listener at the center of a 360-degree orchestra. Mixed and produced in Dolby Atmos and paired with a full-length film, Immersed synthesizes original composition, immersive audio production, and visual storytelling to reimagine how music can be experienced. Created by Juno Award-winning bassist, producer, and engineer Justin Gray, Immersed celebrates artistry and collaboration, drawing on diverse musical influences that include jazz, Indian classical, and global music traditions.
