Hey friends! The time for NAMM approaches this week, and I'll be focusing up the news and releases all about immersive audio, 3d audio and everything Dolby Atmos (since most of the industry in Music, Film, TV and Games use it in production).
So keep on coming back here for more as the week progresses, and I'll see what I find and can share.

Here's the difference..
Dolby Atmos is designed to adapt — to play back differently depending on the speaker system. That only works if the spatial information travels with the audio.
TYPICAL REMOTE STREAMING
Sends a fixed mix
The Atmos gets "baked" into specific channels before it's sent. Whatever arrives is locked — it can't adapt to the destination's speaker layout.
SOURCE-CONNECT
Sends the full Atmos mix
All the spatial data stays intact. Each listener's system receives it and plays it back correctly for their speakers.

WHAT YOU GET

Everyone hears it right
Someone on a 5.1.4 system hears proper 5.1.4. Someone on a stage hears full theatrical. Each system plays it back correctly.

Their room, their calibration
Professional Atmos rooms are carefully tuned. When you send a pre-locked mix, all that calibration gets bypassed. When you send the real thing, their system uses it.

One stream, many formats
Theatrical client, streaming QC, broadcast compliance, binaural check — all in one live session. No need to create separate versions for each reviewer.

Changes arrive live
Adjust your mix; they hear it. Get a note; address it. Everyone's always hearing the current state — no confusion about versions.
The first certified path for Atmos over the internet.
No rendering down. No metadata loss. Source-Connect is the first remote streaming solution to receive Dolby Atmos certification — a new benchmark for professional immersive workflows.
Ready to stream Atmos the way it should travel?
Source-Connect 4 with the Dolby Atmos Renderer integration provides users with the ability to stream audio & metadata between multiple Dolby Atmos rendering environments — all the spatial data stays intact and each listener’s system receives it and plays it back correctly for their speakers.
