[Podcast : Immersive Audio] STEVEN WILSON - A good ATMOS mix

Q&A: STEVEN WILSON ON TOURING THE OVERVIEW, REMIXING JEFF BUCKLEY’S GRACE IN DOLBY ATMOS, AND MORE!

For the immersive music community, Steven Wilson’s remixes are the gift that keeps on giving. Over the last 18 months, fans were treated to his new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mixes of classic records from iconic acts like Pink Floyd, Phil Collins, The Who, New Order, Deep Purple, The Grateful Dead, and Spandau Ballet. His ever-growing body of work now features legendary albums long requested for the spatial treatment, like Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s Welcome To The Pleasuredome and Jeff Buckey’s Grace.

In March 2025, Wilson released his ninth studio album The Overview via Fiction Records. Featuring just two 20-minute epics, it returned to a progressive rock-oriented sound after he had explored more electronic territory with the two preceding releases (2023’s The Harmony Codex and 2021’s The Future Bites). He then embarked on a 70-date world tour for much of the remainder of the year, spanning Europe, North America, India, and Australia.
